A Home That Flows

Home should be a place that reflects your personality and needs to flow with your life instead of getting in the way. For me, I am mentally susceptible to my surroundings, and my living space needs to be well-manicured.

This past year my home was in need of a fresh set of eyes. I reached out to my dear friend Julie Van Daele of Well Received to guide me in re-designing my home. Julie is a talented interior stylist who left a career in fashion PR behind to pursue her love of decor. After a long conversation with Julie about my wants and needs for the home, she put a creative board together and started hand selecting each piece. When she first showed me the Rove CH25 chairs, I knew that she understood my vibe and was already making my space serene. After the chairs came the couch, which was a perfect addition to the room, but still something was needed to bring it all together.

One of my favorite pieces is the large painting in our living room. When I first saw Kristen Giorgi's work at The Line, I knew that her art was a perfect fit for my living room. Now placed above the couch, her work sets the tone as you walk into our living room.

The kitchen was tricky as it's shape and size are quite odd. We had a square dining table in the breakfast nook, but Julie knew that a round table would reduce hard lines and help the rooms flow. When she showed me the Rove Winston table and Compas chairs, I knew that we had found the right pieces for the space. Above the table, hangs prints from Kelly and I's trip to Utah that we printed and framed with Simply Framed.

Now my home feels like an extension of myself and our family. I crave being in my house more than I ever.
